Reading is nothing more than making sense of the letters mixed to form words. This is an abstract process which occurs in the mind. The number of letters in the word does not matter, for as long as this can be read, and its meaning understood. Most English teachers start teaching reading by making the child memorize all the 26 letters of alphabet all at one time. This procedure is confusing to the beginning reader.
Note that the letters “b” and “d”, and “m” and “w”, “p” or “q” would cause confusion. Letters like “a” and “e” are pronounced differently depending on their word placements. The “e” in the word name is not even pronounced at all.” Why overburden the reader with these strange configurations of letters formed into words?
The books is this series teach reading by starting with only a few selected letters of the alphabet and proceeds with the staggered introduction of letters as the books progresses
